For Transfer Applicants to the Bachelor of Commerce Program (required)

"B.Comm Support Letter"

The B.Comm support letter is strongly recommended for transfer applicants to the Bachelor of Commerce program.

Your B.Comm support letter should include the following:

  • Reasons for selecting specific B.Comm major
  • Explanation of past academic performance if average is less than minimum required average - (if applicable)
  • Relevant experience (if applicable)
  • Future plans

 

For Transfer Applicants to the Bachelor of Engineering Program (required)

“B.Eng Letter of Intent”

The B.Eng Letter of Intent is required for all transfer applicants to the Bachelor of Engineering program.

This letter must include the following:

  • Reasons for selecting specific B.Eng major
  • Explanation of past academic performance if average is less than minimum required average - (if applicable)
  • Relevant experience (if applicable)
  • Future plans

 

For Transfer Applicants (optional)

“General Letter of Support”

A letter of support is a brief letter explaining the impact any extenuating circumstances,  including medical and personal challenges, may have had on your academic achievement.  Letters of support can also be sent by professionals to document the impact of medical or personal challenges on your studies.

The letter of support is strongly recommended for transfer applicants.

Your letter of support should include the following:

  • Reasons for selecting specific major
  • Explanation of past academic performance if average is less than minimum required average - (if applicable)
  • Relevant experience (if applicable)
  • Future plans

 

For All Post-Degree Applicants (required)

“Letter of Intent”

The letter of intent is required for post-degree applicants to all programs. Your letter must include your intention for pursuing post-degree studies.

Select from the following:

  • Whether to pursue a second undergraduate degree.
    Please indicate the program and major.

  • To upgrade a degree from the General program to the Honours program, or by adding another specialization to an Honours degree to obtain and Honours equivalent recognition.
    Please indicate your proposed specialization, and whether a major or minor is planned.

  • Not to obtain a degree or degree equivalent, but to upgrade academic qualifications for admission to a graduate or professional program.
    Please indicate the intended graduate or professional program, including the institution and program name.

  • To register in on-campus courses for professional development or personal reasons, e.g. interest in the topic.
    Please indicate your areas of academic interest.

  • Intention to register in graduate courses and have obtained permission to do so.
    Please note that permission to register in graduate courses will be granted only under special circumstances.  Written permission is required from the Chair of the Department and the instructor.  Courses completed in this manner will not normally be credited subsequently to a graduate program.

  • For other reasons.
    Please explain in a few sentences.

 

For Transfer Applicants – where there is a gap in education (when requested)

“Activities Letter”

The activities letter is simply a brief letter, no more than a few paragraphs, explaining your activities during the time span indicated - typically academic years when you were not registered in school.  Please explain your activities.  Activities can include employment, travel, family obligations, or pursuing hobbies, among many others.
