When is Orientation Week?

On Labour Day Weekend, Orientation Week begins with residence move-in and the Off Campus Kick-off. No matter your experience, interests or plans for the coming year, the week has something for you. Each year, more than 120 organizations help to plan over 500 events in just eight days. The week is designed to help you become familiar with the resources and opportunities on campus, the academic and social culture, ways to stay healthy and safe, and generally welcome you to the University of Guelph family.

Orientation week includes over 500 events including tours of campus, sports activities, concerts, BBQs and our famous Gryphon Pep Rally. There will be opportunities to meet with classmates and faculty from your program, as well as time to learn about campus clubs, activities and services.

Plan on being around for this week, as it is an important opportunity to meet new friends and familiarize yourself with the campus. If this is your first time living away from home, expect a combination of excitement and a little apprehension. Having a plan to immerse yourself in campus life for awhile and then reconnecting with home is often a helpful strategy for adjusting to the university environment.

Details about Orientation Week events can be found on the Student Life website and at in August.
